[Critical M] is an audiovisual exploration of erotism, focusing on the historical role of certain bodies as objects of desire, and how these patterns continue to shape experiences in the present. Intimate testimonies unfold alongside experiments with erotic imagery to navigate the chaos of feelings. The work centers on the tension between critically interrogating pre-structured desires and exploring ways to expand the capacity for pleasure, asking whether desire can be reclaimed from the very forces that have shaped it.
The installation takes shape as a robotic sculpture built from obsolete monitors, surfaces that once sold images, now surfacing something closer to skin. Presented as a 7-channel audio-visual installation, one testimony can be listened to privately while stories and sensations intertwine around it, each screen holding its own fragment inside the larger machine.
