[Critical Masturbation] is an ongoing audiovisual exploration on the topic of erotism , focusing on the historical role of women as objects of desire, and how this affects different bodies in the present time. Intimate testimonies and experiments on erotic images unfold simultaneously in space to make sense of the chaos of our feelings. Far from offering fixed answers, Paloma Schnitzer’s work revolves around the question on how to be critical while exploring ways to increase our capacity to enjoy pleasure.

The work is presented as a 7-channel video installation, opening the possibility of privately listening to a testimony, while observing the image of another body, creating a plural transverse interweaving of stories and sensations.
